The stage is being set for Barron Trump foray into the political limelight.
Barron Trump, the youngest offspring of former U.S. President Donald Trump, is soon to graduate from high school. Although he’s mostly stayed out of politics, the Republican Party of Florida selected him on Wednesday night as one of the state’s at-large delegates for the Republican National Convention. This information was revealed by a list of delegates made available to NBC News.
Evan Power, Florida GOP chairman, expressed his pride in the chosen delegation, “Florida is setting a strong convention team. But the main goal? We’re getting ready to secure Florida’s win- and we’re going big.”
This delegate position marks Barron Trump’s most prominent political move so far.
In comparison to his politically active siblings, Barron Trump, who entered adulthood in March, has maintained a more private lifestyle. Nevertheless, his older brothers, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., and even his sister Tiffany Trump, will also serve as at-large RNC delegates in Florida.

Last month, Barron Trump’s name surfaced in political headlines due to the commencement of his father’s New York criminal trial relating to hush money payments to an adult film actress before the 2016 election. The former president’s legal team secured permission from Judge Juan Merchan to take a brief recess from the trial so he could attend Barron Trump’s high school graduation on May 17.
However, a Trump campaign spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment.

On Wednesday night, Eric Trump, the chairman of the delegation, conversed with party leaders, alongside Evan Power, the state GOP chairman.
Despite his failed 2020 re-election campaign, Donald Trump has twice won the state. The state party has shown substantial support for his current presidential campaign, even before its official announcement.
The state party faced a predicament this cycle with Gov. Ron DeSantis, who also sought the GOP presidential nomination. Despite this, party officials indicated their allegiance towards Trump.
In September, party leaders eliminated a loyalty pledge requirement that would have obliged GOP presidential candidates to endorse the eventual Republican nominee to feature on the state’s March 19 primary ballot. Although DeSantis’ campaign openly opposed this, Trump endorsed the idea.
Alongside Trump family members, the Florida GOP nodded in favor of several of the former president’s top supporters as RNC at-large delegates. These include Michael Boulous, Tiffany Trump’s spouse; Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancee; former state Attorney General Pam Bondi; Sergio Gor, a longtime Trump adviser; and former Marvel Entertainment Chairman Ike Perlmutter, a renowned Trump donor. State-level Republican politicians who backed Trump over DeSantis also joined the list.
